Really nice & streamlined electronic jams. STS9 aka: Sound Tribe Sector 9 mixes up a wide variety of ambient/down tempo, trip-hop, funk, breaks and even pieces of jazz fusion and prog (when they bring the guitars that is). Overall, lots of interesting sounds all of which changes from song to song. Very good stuff.
(((((1))))) Interesting mix of down tempo yet dancey and fusion.
((((2))))) Spacey, clicky modern hip-hop & techno beats, spacious.
(((((3))))) Slow moving, jazzy drums, cyclical repetition that eventually gets faster and more skitter-scatter. Rather good.
((((4)))) Centipede video game tones, steady, head noddin’ beat with bits of modern funk & spacey Theremin & near prog guitars.
((((5))) Minimal, sparse beats and random blips and guitars.
(((6)))) Short piece with sample about media & consumerism. Twinkling electronics.
((((7)))) Distorted tone, slightly funky beats, eventually becomes clearer. Very soundtrack-y.
((((8)))) Airy, slow bouncing beats with more twinkling electronics. Interesting.
((((((9)))))) Strong, loud clap-like beats, sort of modern electro-funk with prog synth? Yeah, why not?!
((((10)))) Trippy early 70’s psych number. Sounds like an out take from “Meddle” or at least some unearthed Krautrock band.
(((((11)))))) Spacious then squirrelly prog/space rock ‘ala Ozric Tentacles.
(((((12))))) Huge swath of synth, clicky modern beats, random strummed guitar and lots of tempo/tone changes.
(((13))) Spacey, noodly electronics, jazzy/fusion jam but ends up just being just “OK”.
((((14)))) Beeping electronics, randomly placed chopped up beats & samples/loops of horns. Very chill.
((((15)))) A slow glide into symphonic soundtrack-ness – lots of piano, beats all in a very big, opening credits sound. Ends with a sample about “hope” (but not it’s not you know-who)
