Local textural experimental, from plundered vinyl, exotica at that, comes across as old-school industrial creepy noise. Liner notes say “It could be called ‘Doom Exotica’. Think of it as the last puff of air from the lungs of Martin Denny or Les Baxter as they drift away in an opium coma.” (where do these weirdoes come with this stuff?). But that pretty much nails it: I suspect these are the finest grooves of exotic records slooooowwwwed down to their darkest depths, bringing out an old school industrial ethic. Like that Patton Oswalt piece about slowing down the Chipmunks records. Depths of hell material. Made all the weirder knowing it was culled from that Space Age Bachelor Pad music, 50’s Lounge Exotica. If I am not mistaken this stuff is only a degree of separation from our beloved Bawd of Euphony, Borful Tang, all those fine madmen.
1) dark deep with industrial slowed metal scrapings
2) melodic and really creepy yet somehow enlightening, god this is good!
3) just dark industrial, creepy
4) percussive, comes across like a Gamelan in deep cavernous vicodin hole
5) more of a “sample art” feel, collage sounds
6) deep tones, slow
7) percussive industrial
8) slowed creepy, mildly melodic
9) spooky tones, halloweenie
10) slow melody with monster dragging chains behind him sounds
11) chill, serene, narcotic
12) glacial creepiness, bells, moaning melodies, god this is so cool
