Local band (from Oakland) doing vocal-centered folk with traditional and untraditional song structures. Very different but continually interesting on a 4 songs. Like an unreleased soundtrack to some mystical, wonderous kid’s book from the early 70s.

(((((1))))) Very nice, percussive track in celebration of vocalist Dawn McCarthy’s young daughter. Percussion and random sounds by Matt Waldron of (Irr) App. Ex.
((((((2)))))) Straight up folk with fiddle, acoustic guitar and flute. Fantastic vocals from McCarthy. Continues to keep building into “wow” moments.
(((((3))))) Weird, clicky percussion overlapping male & female vocals then acoustic strums with a “strange children’s animation” feeling. Nice theremin & string sounds, too. Kinda like Firewater in places.
(((((4))))))) Slow moving, gorgeous vocals, minimal percussion and lots of other layers (bass, fiddle, etc). Gets twangy towards the end
