Experimental, sincere, general acoustic pop. Karl Blau is a prolific act and this collection of songs illustrates that you can still produce quality with great quantity. His vocals can sound almost like Beck at times, and his influences seem to range from Waits to rock n’ roll. The lo-fi production really works with his style and the songs are malleable enough to work on the record, yet remain their own entities. The songs all sound familiar to the ear, but have their own, interesting spin on the norm. This is folk in a loose sense of natural feel, but is clearly not folk in execution. The album seems so genuinely warm, loose, and interesting. Highly recommended. No FCC violations noted.
