Classical pieces for two pianos ("four hands"). Modern compositions done up in a "normal" classical-sounding vein. Like any classical music, the fast segments really get your attention, and of course both pianists can really fly. (5,8,
Susan Grace and Alice Rybak - pianos.
,2,3- Ragtime! in a classical but still upbeat vein. 1,3 are fast; 2 is slower and flowery.
- An old-jazzy touch in some off-time rhythms. Upbeat.
- Racing, almost a little stomping. Cool.
- Serious "classical," fast notes in a slow setting
- Lightly flickering high notes
- Fast and showy
- Slow. Gets into a hypnotic two-chord pattern at the end.
- Catchy mid/fast, with an intriguing melody
- Grand classical with some ridiculously fast/accurate runs. Slow, stately feel overall.
- Wow, sounds almost like glam rock. Lotta low notes, thumping beat. (Apparently composesr William Bland used Limp Bizkit as a source. Aw, come on, William, you can find better rock than that!)
- Fast and fun. Admittedly could be more "manic." It gets into repetitious pecking that's fun in the way it builds up rhythms.
-23- A suite of ten short movements, most of them less than 1 minute each. Probably best to play them all together. Mostly nice, esp. 14,15,17, but ends sternly and hammering.
