CD 1
1. * Starting with soft and slow tickling the ivories, increasing in business. Staying within boundaries, rarely abstract or dissonant. Perfect tone. Chat with colleagues over a cocktail, pinkies raised. 'Hyonh honh honh..'
2. ** A recognizeable melody. Morose, with minor chords and showing duet style. Good dynamics and just the right bit abstract/improv. Playing in a minor key draws the listener in.
3. * This track starts weakly showcasing playing in unison. Another recognizeable melody. Becomes a bit too cliche for my taste, focusing more on the performer than the strength of the song.
4 ** Fun. A Beatles song comes alive with some bluesy riffs and a "Peanuts" feel. Length (6:47) is the best yet for radio play.
5. * Much more abstract here. Flying fingers.
6. * Chick leading the way grunting. Stops & starts / more abstract. Can't hold my attention for 8:46, even with the talent abound.
CD 2
#1. ** Sort of traditional sounding jam during this shorter track. Not that catchy, cheesy, Contemporary Jazz. This is the real deal.. Abstract to a degree and improvisational in style. A lot going on throughout. Never a dull/calm moment. Best track for radio with 7:45 length, conveniently.
#2. * 15mins of rapidfingers playing pleasing sounds interlacing between the two players Busy throughout, ends with three brief chords in unison.
#3 ** Calm/Slow it down - more jazzy and abstract at the start.. Exploring the piano range up and down.. Improvisational single player? At 2mins they begin to duet, one playing bassline, the other filling in melodies. Sounds improvised. "Summertime, and the livin's easy" melody flashes briefly. Tempo seems to build as notes increase frequency. Nice use of dynamics.
#4 ** Moving melodies and sustained chords with staccato for spice. Pleasant sounds and beautiful piano tones. Reminds me of music for film. (8:12)
#5 * Abstract Japanese folk song where the piano strings are played on the inside as well as by the keys. Disturbing sounds become melodies that tell a story of chaos and unity.
#6 * Miles Davis Sketches of Spain Melody flurry of playing grows as the track progresses, becoming too hot doggish and less focused on the song for my tastes.
