Undefinable: band that cant seem to keep a straight 4/4 or ¾ in any song, but avoids coming across gratuitously mathy. In fact if a guitar/bass/drums well-sung vocal indie pop band could pull this off any better I’d like to see it. Just plain good interesting musicianship. Great songwriting, arrangements and it all scratches every itch: your sugary pop itch, your “scratch my itchy asshole” weirdness itch, your “I want to please my mom who never loved me” itch. Name it. To be honest, this is almost too “normal” at face value for what I would expect from the Load Records label but on closer listen you realize its pretty bent stuff. Josh, Brick, are you listening?

1) upbeat slight hip swinging beat that shifts into a near mathy, prog feel with some horns and disjunct time sig changes, cool shit
2) a capela brief intro to midpaced mindful rock
3) disjunct off timing but epic pop/rock, listenable
4) a pleasant almost classic piece of melodic “songwriting” that borders on Bacharach’esque pop, this would fit in every show on kzsu, from weirdo to pure pop
5) I love this, like they are trying so hard to play a “normal” ballady song but whenever the lyrics kick in they just fuck it up, its really pretty otherwise
6) off time upbeat smarmy feel, turns into a major time signature proggy exercise but with pretty lap steel guitar
7) goes around, rocks out all over the place
