Roots rock reggae from the Northeast. Wisely, most tracks are instrumentals, because that’s what these guys do best. Some tracks feature quite decent guest vocals from Kyle McDonald of Slightly Stoopid. Draws everything from the golden age of reggae in the 70’s, and goes best with a draw from a spliff…
No FCCs detected. I like 8 and 11 best, but all tracks are excellent.
1. 3:58 ***downtempo and downbeat skank with melodica, relaxed and spliff-worthy.
2. 2:54 ***midtempo jolly roots bubble with flute.
3. 3;23 ***slightly downtempo danceable skank with vocals.
4. 3:35 ***downtempo dubby bubble
5. 3:35 ***downtempo relaxed skank with vocals, mellow praise of pot.
6. 3:49 ***echo-laded midtempo dub, bits of very dubby vocals, prominent bass. Ends a few seconds shy.
7. 3:16 ***reverby midtempo skank with lots of bass.
8. 3:40 ****very slow rootsy skank with prominent guitar and vocals. Quite good – reminds me of early Burning Spear.
9. 3:52 ***double-time bubble with prominent keyboards.
10. 2:45 **slow, sad song of lost love. *sniffle*
11. 4:43 ****random electronics, swingy midtempo bubble. Fine dub instrumental.
