Dark, neurotic blues-rock with Jack White (White Stripes) and Alison Mosshart (The Kills) sharing vocal duty. Think recent White Stripes, stripped down to the bones, then fleshed out more spastically and angrier, with touches of soul and arena rock. My picks: 2, 1, 3, 9. FCC clean. –Andy
- Sparse and brooding; big build-ups and let-downs, finally launching into a cathartic jam toward the end
- Pounding drums and droning guitar on overdrive, imploring vocals from White
- Two organ parts and spat vocal spurts
- Soulful and rousing, with female lead and chorus of male backers
- Loud and aggressively frantic, with super-effected guitars; runs around all over the place
- Dark, with surf-rock guitar parts
- Colossal guitar and shouted chorus accents; a real headbanger
- Big, mean, industrial mover with clipped female vocals
- Instrumental; chunky spy soundtrack guitar and bass in spooky post-rock groove
- Noisy breakdown opens brooding male-vocal number
- Acoustic, soulful down-south round with rousing piano and nice guitar noodling
