Channeling late 70’s London post-punk, this band fits right in with Pop Group, Lilliput, The Fall, Slits, Delta 5, Glaxo Babies. Former member of Shoplifting brings angular and dissonant guitars, simple if disjunct beats, tropical, male and female vocals that sound very “Manchester” despite being a Seattle duo. At times you expect them to just launch into full on post-punk dub-reggae a la The New Age Steppers/Slits. But it never happens. Just keeps rockin. Great stuff.
