Two dudes from Low (including frontman Alan Sparhawk on lead vocals) and a drummer let loose on the extra-loud guitar rock. Hints of early heavy metal esp. in the guitar work, with darker, grungier parts of the range. My picks: 1, 9, 4, 6. FCC: 10 –Andy
*1 - Catchy and concise; lots of snare, U2-esque vocal soars
2 - Raspy noise intro breaks into real big guitar
3 - Short, instrumental hair-metal-ish jam
*4 - Classic rock guitar settles down for cheery verse vocals; I'm feeling some Springsteen here but it could be the lyrics
5 - Alice in Chains feel; dark, with lots of reverb and a long stretch of huge instrumental thrashing toward end
*6 - Aggressive, with cool two-part vocals; Steppenwolf with a whole lot more distortion?
7 - Filler; another quick instrumental, this time softer, no guitar
8 - Noisy start, distorted vocals and skittery drums; unexpectedly breaks open at end
*9 - Classic Low slowcore song with bigger guitar; spacey intro, prolonged guitar eruption toward the end; ~30 seconds of wandering feedback/noise at finish, leading into next track
10 - FCC-"shit", "fag"; intro: heartbeat bass over muffled radio voice and quiet noise; weird, sparse, and downtrodden, with end similar to intro
