Toronto-based Psych & Pop with a very appropriately titled album. Pronounced the “wah-wahs”. Lots of swirling guitar & organ chords with often with hazy & sentimental female & male vocal duets. A little redundant in places but otherwise really well done. Dig this if you’re into: Ride, The Chills, Spacemen 3 (at their poppiest). At odd times this sounds a bit like Loop.
(((1)))) Good, repetitive, slow psych instrumental
((((2)))) Guitar tone sounds A LOT like “Pink Frost” by the Chills but takes a turn in its own direction with flute, hazy call & response vocals.
(((((3))))) Spacey, steady swooshes of sound & throbbing bass. Reminds me a lot of Loop.
(((4))) Not too different from #2 but a bit moodier. Some female back vocals that sound good but should be louder in the mix.
(((((5))))) Fast chords, fast & punky tempo/singing. Fantastic organ sound, too.
((((6)))) Typical but well-done woozy psych-pop with harmonica, glockenspiel and the usual strummy guitars.
(((7))) Slow, twangy & dusty –mostly OK but nothing too special.
(((8))) Female vocals, slow & very sad pop with a slow 60’s psych filter. Pretty good albeit a tad stiff.
((((9)))) Slow & smoky, twangy with nice female & male vocals.
(((10))) Feedback, then straight up head noddin’ psych pop fuzz & wah-(w)hoa.
((((11))))) Spot on psych roller with a great vocal delievery. Very much in the vein of Ride, et. al.
(((12)))) Moody sounding with some interesting chords & sparse drumming.
