Jaguar Love-“Hologram Jams” (reviewed by “Uncle Steve”)
FCC violations on Tracks 3 & 6
High-pitched, piercing, often shrieking male vocals. At times, sounds very similar to classic rock instrumentation, except for the prominent, arcade-y synths sounds.
Tracks: Recommend 1, 2, 11, 12
1 Straight-ahead anthem with prominent synths & simple drum pattern.
2 Prominent back-beat & synths.
3 (“Fucking” at 0:57 or so.) Arcade-sounding synths & sing-song vocals (verging on rap).
4 50s rock&roll feel (with processed vocals & synths doubling the chords w/ guitars)
5 Exotic start. Very in-your-face. Lots of distortion.
6 (“Fuck” in the chorus, 2x) Very in-your-face. Lots of synth.
7 Odd synth throbbing rhythm/vocal counterpoint.
8 Sounds a bit liked a distorted, more upbeat version of Depeche Mode.
9 Similar instrumentation to other tracks, but slower tempo & more subdued.
10 Mid-tempo, more of the same.
11 Unusual synth introduction. Interesting chord progressions & guitar accompaniment.
12 Funky, synth-y, shriek-y cover of Janis Joplin’s song. VERY COOL!
