Empty is an industrial/electro band out of Australia. CD is dark, brooding, industrial, brilliant. enveloping, ambient, and danceable all at once.

Try: 1-4, 9,
*=liked, **=loved

1.** 3:02 mid/fast frenetic instrumental. dark and enveloping synth keys and string. upscale compex drum loops. Ends with a ringing siren that makes you think the buildup is coming, only to fade away.
2.** 4:57 chill/mid industrial. heavy, pounding bassline, sharp, complex drum loops. big, New Wave synth keys are haunting and sustained in some places and flutter in others. gritty, echoing, forlorn m vox evoke Trent Reznor. someone will make a ton of money remixing this.
3.** 6:25 fast, industrial vocals over drum-n-bass rhythms. haunting, dark sustained synth keys. ready for the club!
4.** 5:46 chill/mid, slower and more deliberate than #3. epic, smooth synth strings lead into dark bassline and electro synth keys. m vox are more distorted and subdued here. very cool.
5.* 5:00 chill/mid, classic 80s industrial keys over enveloping bass, less beat-focused than other tracks, although drum loops become more prominent toward the end. lyrics leave a bit to be desired.
6.** 4:29 fast, energetic, some trance/progressive influences with short chill intervals where the beat drops out. opens w/ dark synth keys leading into classic 80s industrial lyrics and processed m vox that are melodic and way less gritty than the other tracks. scattered uplifting strings. big winner.
7.* 4:43 chill and deliberate. very NIN. simple, dark, overwhelming synth keys, industrial drum loops; dark, hoarse m vox. keys become more melodic halfway thru.
8.* 6:02 chill, ambient, deliberate. tension between melancholy m vox and bass vs blissful synth keys/strings.
9.** 5:29 fast d-n-b drum loops that drop out in places in favor of upbeat keys. highly distorted, robotic m vox. keys range from dark to upbeat/progressive/Sasha-esque.
10.** 5:30 fast, methodical, melodic/progressive in some places and dark/industrial in others, uplifting overall. classic industrial/new wave sound, synth keys and rhythms recall New Order. loved it.
11.* 6:11 slow, methodical, dark, evil. robotic, dark m vox. goth/industrial. enveloping synth keys and pounding rhythm. wear dark clothes and pile on the white face makeup.
12. 5:05 chill pace, tries to be epic, unsatisfying.
13. 7:01 chill. opens with beautiful piano riff. m/f duet vox are sensitive, r&b-influenced, minimally processed, and overpowered by the instrumentals. unfortunately winds up sounding like justin timberlake and a low-end tina turner singing over an industrial beat.
14.** 4:21 slow and percussion-free. late-night ambient. sustained synth notes with sampled m vox here and there.
