Tripped out roosty retro psychey modern ?????? hard to describe. At first glance its easy to put this in retro roots traditional bin but on further inspection you realize this stuff is heavily layered and far out. Soaring reverby twangy guitars, tasteful organ, simple percussion, male/female vocal duties, sublimal sounds everywhere. Dreamy and freaky as hell, at the same time. Perfection. Fans of Lee Hazelwood, Nick Cave, Tindersticks, Slim Cessna, Johnny Dowd, Marty Robbins, Lefty Frizzell, vicodin and whiskey. Recommend: 4, 7, 3
1) waltzy 50’s slow dance, dual voc duties
2) slow sparse w tambourine beat, reverby, male vocs
3) female vocs lead in, soaring epic feel with marching snare drums and string arrangements
4) just skip to this track: slow beat with interesting trippy percussion, a slow mournful western ballad, with lap steel and simple campfire-side guitar, like Lefty Frizzel or Marty Robbins on a heavy dose of LSD
5) swingy gallopy strumming with subliminal trippy sounds
6) somewhat brief near interlude
7) tambourine strummy, sounds like how a sweet 50s-60’s folk pop song would sound if you were peacefully drowning on the bottom of a wading pool
8) slow, soaring, lovely
9) instrumental interlude of sorts
10) bossa nova retro feel that shifts to waltzes
11) slow ballady outtro
