post punk art school kids form a band in l.a. at the end of the 70's.various influences: punk, no-wave, middle eastern, surf, goth=post punk/indie rock legends. this is a collection of their work. enjoy.
RIYL: joy division, gang of four, killing joke, urinals, mars, dna, cure, etc.
FCC CLEAN: mostly instrumental.

*2. jo div&urinals. kinda cure.
3. dark stuff. early cure.
*4. as gothy downer as before, but it really moves&rocks. a middle eastern dance beat.
5. (instrumental) ominous...gettin' arty...early depeche ala mode, but much more fractured and arty. sr's trademark metallic percussion gets a workout. (the piano gets fucked.)
6. (instrumental) really, really, really sounds like joy division.
7. (instrumental) surf sound is really coming out. urinals.
*8. (instrumental) really driving&rocking=it's epic, baby!
*9. BEST TRACK: one of the best songs of the 80's. really rocking.

13. dark stuff. sludgy. shredded vox ala killing joke (when they're angry) little toy percussion.
14. ALMOST BEST TRACK:swarmy darkness. a real down wave. angry vox come in....mid eastern feel.
15. (instrumental) starts sunshiny psych. stays that way.
16. (instrumental) dronescape. launches into metallic mideast dance of guitar.
