Kigali Y’Izahabu by The Good Ones

One way to describe this debut CD is as a collection of unadorned, raw pieces of music. No synth or electric guitars here. All they have is a guitar with broken strings & they create beautiful harmony with their voices. They sing in an ancient language of Rwanda.

This CD reminds you of the folk songs from the Lomax collection save this CD was recorded in the 21st c.

Try 1,2,4,6, 8, 11, 12

1.Simple, beautiful melody.
2.Medium paced harmony
3. Mellow song highlighting each singer's vocals.
4. Sounds like a musical conversation as if they
are traveling or narrating a story.
5. Gravely voiced singer reminds you of an
old blues singer.
6. All three sing in rounds that highlights their voices.
7. Sounds somewhat like #6.
8.Opening chords for a fleeting moment reminds
you of 'Way Down Swanee River." Harmonious & beautiful. You forget the guitar has broken strings.
9. Folksy and a little wistful with an addictive refrain.
10.Familiar sounding tune. Raw voice that cracks
in places.
11. Lovely and happy sounding tune with a tinge
of longing.
12. Beautiful harmony. Even though you don't
understand the
words the song instantly appeals to you.
