Free noise/rock. Barbiana Complex is a New Jersey experimental trio. Loose, bashout, heavy, shouty, dark shit with some Nels Cline thrown in. The volatile female vocals and the whole thing sounds a lot like Carla Bozulich / Evangelista / Scarnella. For fans of experimenting with Clorox bleach, wandering around Civic Center at 1:30am, Sonic Youth, Ritalin, inhalants. Play it loud and rattle Piggot Theater.
1. Gurgly, menacing looped feel, warped saxophone, fades into 2. (3:04)
2. Bass comes in and guitar starts revving up, shakers lead into the improv, free jazz drums, distorto guitar shrieking. Play 1 and 2 together if you’re going to play 2. (7:56)
*3. Mechanical whirring and dissonant, sustained distorted guitars launch into vocals, sax, and swirling noise improv. Litmus test for your listeners. (13:44)
*4. Actually playable on a show with “songs;” upbeat groovy, repetitive guitars, dark sax solo, fluttery woodwinds. (2:50)
