Fun music, trashyard Americana. Playful, circus references. M vocal leads often half sung, half chanted. Some F vocals too. Guitar, drums, horns, plus here and there Theremin played musically, musical saw, accordion, toy piano. Rollerderbycore. From Asheville NC (partly recorded in NYC). FCC clean.
+1. Fast tempo, 2/4 drums, minor key vaguely gypsie sounding, evocative of a carnie barker. Influenced by Tom Wait’s “Singapore” for sure.
2.Fun jaunty music. Distractingly odd falsetto backing vocals (just too high in the mix) “Zombie pirate caves”
+3. ¾ time, classically trained F voice, circus carousel music
+4.low bass and organ, mid-slow but still upbeat. Music influenced by “Mama told me not to come” with a couple dissonant interludes.
5. Sonically interesting. Quiet intro. Mystery drone, clinks. Then comes a beat, and at halfway point a F voice starting dreamy and drawn out, gradually speeding up, then slowing again. Instrumental crescendo, fade to muted trumpet.
6.Guitar rocker. Would go well in a rock set, but not as memorable as others on this disc.
7.Very cute rendition of nursery rhyme
8. ¾ time, mid-slow, musical saw, mystery circus
+9.Quiet intro, toy piano, old-time vocal noises for about 1:30. Then song starts in earnest, lively 4/4 circus, then slower/few drums instrumental interlude, and back to song. Quiet outtro.
+10.The highest production value, warped, version of Row Row Row Your Boat you’ll ever hear. Play late night for max effect.
