Wax Idols - "All Too Human / William Says" 7" 45 rpm Hozac Records
A- side
This just screams "Indie Rock"/Teen Anthem to me, for some reason. This is a hard-driving quartet that evokes the essential sound of a lo-fi 7" side, IMO. Not band for a Frisco band. HxJx's "pick-to-click".
RIYL: Siouxsie, old U2, Scrawl, Contractions, GoGos(?), Sixteen Deluxe
B-side
Muddy mix on drums (ala Suicide Commandoes), ominous vocals, savage guitar stabs. Overall, a lot darker, faster & meaner than A-side. Not sure if it could be considered BladeRunnerCore, Meow-core, or just Gothic pop? Watch out for tricky ending!
