FIDLAR/"Diydui"/White Iris
In this adrenaline-filled punk/stoner album, FIDLAR (“Fuck It Dog, Life’s A Risk”) does what it wants and doesn’t give a shit what you think. Hailing from the skate pop culture in the Brooklyn Projects, FIDLAR’s album is boisterous, lively, and brash. It has the loudness of punk rock and the heaviness of classic hard rock. FCC on 1. Favorites: 2, 4
1. (1:42) Fast. FCC - “Fucking” all over the song. “Bitch”. Upbeat, noisy, yelling, hysterical punk rock awesomeness.
2. (2:24)* Mid. Upbeat and lively but slower. Has hints of 70s rock guitar riffs and drumming.
3. (1:49) Fast. Wild drums and adrenaline-filled guitar vamping. “Aaahs”, then stutter-like repetition of syllables in words. Song composition similar to Blondie’s “One Way or Another”.
4. (2:26)* Mid/Fast. Catchy, heavy guitar riffs alternating with airy, surfy 50s-esque guitar riffs. Hilarious lyrics.
