Guatemalan artist, sings in both English (E) and Spanish (S). Total mix: everything from typical boleros, to blues, to rock. Cabaret style dominates. For fans of Fiona Apple, Beirut, Julieta Venegas. Try 2,3. FCC Clean.
1.3:30, S. Mid-tempo, cabaretish, sappy. Vocal work is very grand, bolero-ish
†2.3:26, E. Blues. Groovy beat, slick brass in chorus and dramatic hoarse vocals.
†3.2:50, S. Ballad, cross between bolero and cabaret. Retro, very Fiona Apple.
4. 4:20, S. French brass, again the cabaret theme, but very show-y. Circus music, with sardonic “Ha, ha!” in chorus. Wind and orchestration: best part.
5. 3:35, E. Cabaret, circus-y. I promise, this sounds exactly like something by Danny Elfman crossed with the these song of The Aristocats.
6. 0.49. Instrumental cabaret/acoustic guitar interlude.
7. 4:04, S. Dusty Americana. Bluesy and downtempo. Slide guitar, remorseful.
8. 4:18, S. Midtempo, bluesy guitar. Feel good mellow rocker.
9. 5:01, E. Bluesy soul rocker. Independent, womanly vocals. Joss Stone-ish but less powerful.
10. 4:26, S. Dusty, downtempo. Bass, slow guitar plucking. Builds, then tapers.
11. 2:24, S/E. Bossa. Reminiscent of Natalia LaFourcade, downtempo, cooing.
12. 2:40, E. Uptempo cabaret piano line with just the voice. Fiona Apple-ish.
