Psychedelic garage punk-pop. Weird, irreverent, and energetic as hell. Production really shines here, finding a lot of different takes on the lo-fi aesthetic without getting in its way. All tracks great, best entry point is 2. FCC 3(avoidable), 10?
-Andy
*1 - (2:36) bursts open w/ scratchy-ass sax part; fast dark and bluesy, shrieky chorus
**2 - (2:04) instantly catchy garage-pop about, yes, modern art; theremin part!
3 - avoidable FCC 'shit' in spoken outro - cut at 2:32; (2:49) busted little jangle-pop number about Spiderman and sex abuse, weird stuff
*4 - (2:03) groovy psychedelic garage rock, more sax
5 - (2:50) slowed-down psychey punk
6 - (2:19) mid rock n roll w/ effective early-60s treatment, great guitar
7 - (1:56) jagged, catchy pop
8 - (1:48) Vaselines-channeling campy punk-pop, whistling and all
9 - (2:53) sparse, weird arrangement of simple mid pop
10 - FCC? "giving head" (3:14) snarling psychedelic rock, striking acoustic guit part
*11 - (2:46) rousing sing-along jangle-pop
12 - (2:23) mid countrified garage rock
*13 - (2:30) upbeat, catchy, determined Ramones pop
*14 - (2:00) saxy swamp rock with arena chorus
15 - (2:46) jagged psych-pop, lots of drug talk
16 - (4:25) weird as hell slower psychedelic jam, lots of falsetto; slow fade-out and abrupt distorted vox in last seconds
