Sandwell District - Feed Forward Versions
Label: Sandwell District
Sandwell District are Regis & Function from Berlin, and they produce deep, minimal techno. They've been around for a while, and their sound features dramatic synths, shuffle beats, and long atmospheric ambient breaks. In many ways, I wish trance music could use more of the intelligent substance of artists like Sandwell District. If you like Jeff Mills, Octave One, Carl Craig, you'll love this CD. All good, but try: 2, 4, 7.
1) dark atmospheric ambience, beat kicks in halfway, tribal percussion, dramatic synth
2) shuffle beat, simple electro loops on top of synth washes
3) slow atmospheric intro, sparse beat kicks in, detroit-style moody techno
4) percussive techno w/ swirling effect coming in & out
5) synth washes w/ sci-fi buildups, a New Wave feel
6) moody spacey tech-house w/ dramatic synths in background, ambient end
7) classic track feat. Octave One, remixed by Sandwell, swrily vox w/ spacey techno
