Stunning experimental percussive improv. This is an edited recording of a propulsive live performance by prolific experimentalists Oren Ambarchi and Robbie Avenaim from 2009 in Tel Aviv. Ambarchi and Avenaim have worked together over the years in many forms, including Australian experimental band Phlegm. Layers of electronics, droning guitars, free, loose percussion. So many textures and walls of tense, towering drones. This is what I would imagine it would feel like to take ambien and go for a swim in the ocean. A real treat from the good folks at Bo’Weavil.

1. Slow, atmospherics give way to rumbling and rattling percussion, which is surrounded by droning layers of looped thick guitar washes, humming major sub-low end engulfs, samples thrown about, morphs into a dark martial jaunt. Kind of an abrupt fade out. (20:16)
2. Thrown back out into the urgently enveloping whirlpool, helicopter flapping with some droning distorted guitar parts before the intense cymbal charging comes back, single tone modulating sirens along pounding tom and cymbal abuse and distorted guitar loop. (18:46)
