From the band that brought you Volcano Choir (a.k.a. Bon Iver’s side project), CCB return to their straightforward instrumental post rock, which sound very much like jamming sessions from Yo La Tengo or Mogwai. Try all. FCC Clean.
1. 5:31 Guitar jamming tour de force. Sounds like an extended instrumental by Yo La Tengo. Around 2:48, playful call-response between drums & main guitar.
2. 6:46 Drum line opens, guitars slowly warm up, explodes around minute 3:00, with driving guitar line and sunshine through the trees, electro effects. Lovely.
3. 6:46 Perfect for a road-trip. Guitar plucking, electro atmosphere builds with bass line, driving drums, all elements build and fall away throughout.
4. 9:15 Deep, resonant piano notes put the skittering guitar riffs into motion. It’s like having the inner mechanisms of a machine explained through music. Harmonics on guitar. Elements build independently of each other, then merge, fall away, strings build incessantly then incorporate the drums, bass. Awesome.
