Sun-bleached dubby psychedelic rock from our friends at Not Not Fun. Peaking Lights is a duo who have been known to refer to themselves as A.C.I.D. (Aaron Coyes and Indra Dunis), who hail from Wisconsin, (of all places…) although their radiant trippy jams fit right alongside NNF’s excellent roster of Californian day-glo psychrockers. Highly recommended for fans of Pocahaunted, Sun Araw, Robedoor, Terror Bird, or Topaz Rings.

*1. Crazy psychedelic wanderings through swirly keyboards, crystalline xylophone apparitions, whispers of guitar, and crunchy bass chords thumping from speakers that blew out months ago.
*2. Clattering electronics. Dubby basslines, catchy jangly guitars, dazed female vocals.
3. Darky resonating percussion. Sparse electric guitar recorded in some distant cave. Hazy vocals.
*4. Breezy and airy, and a bit tropical. And it’s not called the “Dub Version” for nothing. Vocals are few and far between—lots of Poccahaunted-style percussive vocals with long swampy jams.
*5. Downtempo. Slow and thick. Lots of muddled samples, minor-chord piano, and gentle guitar musings.
6. Melting with waves of chipper keyboard, bouncy percussion and echoey lyrics.
*7. This track is nuts. Glitchy and clattering with a few acid house elements and suave female lyrics. And damn…that bassline…so deep and gritty. I would pay them to blow out my amp if it would make it sound like that.
8. Slippery midtempo psych with steadily marching percussion and punchy keyboard. Pumping enough chemicals into the atmosphere until sunsets look AWESOME!
