Dom / Family of Love EP / Modular People and Astralwerks Records

Recorded in Brooklyn at Rare-Book-Room, yet from Worchester Massachusetts, Dom is pure Indie-Rock/Pop. Low-fi distortions, keyboard, drums, guitars, and vocals of a sort of melodramatic surf-rock. A softer less punk version of Girls, with a touch of M83, or even more similar to Black Kids / the Cure.
There are loads of other bands with the exact same name, easily confused. They have released 2 EPs, this one and Sun Bronzed Greek Gods (2010) (originally recorded in a basement with a pink paisley guitar, casio keyboard, and fruity loops).

FCC on #5 (though my favorite).

1*: Telephone (2:47) - Slow buildup for first 30 sec. Smooth catchy surfy indie/rockpop.
2:* Family of Love (4:32) - More poppy and upbeat. Soft vocals, nice and dramatic. Very easy listen. Very similar to The Black Kids.
3: Damn (2:54) - More beachy indie rock feel to this, distortion makes vocals slightly hard to understand. Similar to Girls.
4*: Happy Birthday Party (3:59) - This one is different, has more distortion with a synth beat, and some beautifully cheezy vocals (“Time to get gnaaaarly! Happy birthday partyyyy!”)
5: Some Boys (featuring Emma) (2:13) - FCC. Female vocals. Smoother. Favorite sadly.
