Weird, warped house, drum’n’bass and noise. This plays for over 40 minutes, yet it’s not an album. Instead, Space Dimension Controller gives us a preview of what we can expect from his debut album dropping next year. If he continues down this path, fans of Aphex Twin, Lone, Floating Points, and spaced-out house in general should tune in.
Try: 6, 8, 3
FCC: Clean
1) 0:13 Short burst, jingle-like
2) 2:38 Interwoven synthesizer patterns, slow and mesmerizing
3) 3:40 * Aphex Twin almost stops by for a schizophrenic drum’n’bass rush.
4) 3:37 Soft, dusty synthesizers. Birds chirping in the background.
5) 7:48 A primal beat drives this strange techno piece into the trenches and back. Soft intermezzo, then back on track. Long outro
6) 6:51 * Filter noise warps back into a thumping electro jam. Nice.
7) 5:12 Slow pulse, rushing hi-hats. Washed out synthesizer squeaks.
8) 5:15 * Weird, warped. Lots of layers all mixed and messed up.
9) 2:07 Slow, ambient. Tape noise and haunted, random synth noises
10) 5:40 Fast, upbeat. Rushing hi-hats, trickling synths.
11) 3:44 Slowly building up, dead-simple synth pattern and Pink Floyd-esque synthesizer landscapes. “Secret” ending, you probably want to skip that.
