San Francisco-based duo with this, their debut album (released in 2010). Lots of ‘noise’ within the songs with use of synth, static phrases. At times, verging on electronica or dance. Brings to mind some slight Kraftwerk, New Order, Depeche Mode, Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark, and that ilk. Interesting stuff. No FCC’s.
*My Favorites*: 2, 6, 7, 10.
1. (2:40) Mid. Industrial noise to begin, echoey vocal, backing vocal, hi-hat or cymblas, guitar ending.
2. *(2:23) Mid. Tambourine, synth, drum. Has a persistent static noise. kind of dreamy, spacey.
3. (3:50) Mid. Synth, tambourine, march beat, static. Static and video game, slot machine stylings to end.
4. (6:59) Mid / Fast. Sounds like two like items rubbing together, not sanding blocks, but, something to that effect. Hypnotic beat, almost electronica. Marching, far fucking out. Short vocal phrase comes in with 3:55 remaining.
5. (2:40) Slow / Mid. Industrial synth, plodding beat, loud and driving, guitar ending.
6. *(2:25) Mid. Echoey vocals, backing vocals, plodding beat, catchy.
7. *(3:26) MId. Big synth, drums, repeated lyric, somehow magnetic.
8. (0:56) Slow / Mid. Spacey, dreamy synth stuff.
9. (3:29) Mid. Plodding beat, slightly trippy effects.
10. *(5:50) Mid. Guitar, drums, synth, harmonizing. Gets dreamy and spacey, guitar feedback. Slight eastern flair. Cool.
11. (0:58) Mid. Big static, big sound, harmonizing. Nice.
