The dirty rock/blues on this album is raw and wonderful. Lots of wailing guitar solos and growling vocals. Standout tracks include 1, 3, 5, 7. FCC Clean.
by Karpediem
**1) Devil Walk (3:00): fast bluesy track with a lengthy wailing guitar solo in the middle.
2) Blue Garden (3:34): Mid-tempo track reminiscent of Born in the USA-era Bruce Springsteen
**3) Doctor Midnight (3:01): Quick-pace rock song. Pervasive, compelling bassline
4) Ain’t Enough Comin’ In (4:04): Bassline nearly identical to that of Michael Jackson’s Billie Jean. Vocally, two voices compete but don’t quite mesh—but that doesn’t mean it’s bad. Actually creates a rather nice effect.
**5) Hold On (5:20): Slow, poetic.
6) Poisontown (3:11): Pretty standard up-tempo rock track. Singer really gets his growl on.
**7) Highway 61 (3:27): Electrified, sped-up cover of Bob Dylan’s “Highway 61 Revisited”
8) Death Letter (4:17): slow crawling blues track that has a solid bar band feel
9) 20,000 Dollars Worth of Twang (2:56): Upbeat blues track.
10) Shake Your Money Maker (2:04): Cover of the Elmore James classic. Stays pretty true to the original in terms of style.
11) Hillbilly Junkyard (2:12): Guitar and piano weave together to create the introduction to this faster blues track; maintain their presence throughout to make a solid song with a cool bridge.
