Experimental hipster house. Yes, hipster house. You know, that thing where indie rock artists leave behind their guitars and amps, pick up a laptop and send longing glances towards the dance floor. Ital is that kid. With his debut album on Planet Mu, however, he takes a step away from the bouncy bubble gum house that secured him a healthy dose of attention last year and experiments with darker textures and more nuanced compositions. Not exactly a house album, but fairly entertaining nonetheless. Fans of Blondes and Zomby should give this a shot
Try: 1, 5, 3 FCC: Nope, all clean

1) 7:52 * Rambling, stuttering, shimmering vocal sample chopped into bits and pieces. Reassembled on a bouncy house foundation with an occasional helping hand from Ms. Whitney Houston. Solid.
2) 3:54 Warped, gurgling. Mean bass waves with some very distant metallic vocal samples.
3) 10:13 * Happily bouncing off the walls. Thumping kick drums and uplifting synthesizers create a somewhat nontraditional house jam. Goes all minimalist halfway through and builds back up
4) 10:13 Starts out with a dystopic vocal sample, gradually transitions towards a rumbling house track. Lots of rattling percussion, subtle timbre variations.
5) 10:24 * Sweeping synthesizers and heavily manipulated vocals come together in a spaced out jam. There’s a melody hiding somewhere out there, but it’s hiding well.
