Hard and/or ambient techno. Sigha + Hotflush is a combination that never fails to amaze. The Abstractions I-IV EP is no exception to that rule. Although the name would suggest that this isn’t a real release, the music shows that this is not the case. With a blend of stripped down minimalistic techno and ambient explorations, Sigha crafts yet another exciting collection of excellent electronic music. Fans of Shed, anything on Ostgut Ton, Scuba, and Pangaea should check this out.

Try: 3, 2, 4
FCC: Clean

1) 2:26 Ambient drizzle of distant light. Nighttime waves and refractions of cosmic rays.
2) 8:27 * Pounding, pulsating techno right of the bat. That stripped down Berghain sound gets another revival with a merciless beating from Sigha.
3) 7:03 * More colorful than 2, but still hard and unrelenting. Layered and prickly with unsettling synthesizer patterns. Rawr.
4) 6:50 * Slower, more subtle, ambient. Seemingly endless depth with a slight industrial twist.
