MC Dizzy Jackson
Reviewed 2012-03-30
Former Rolling Stones bassist for over 30 years, Wyman has fronted The Rhythm Kings now for more than 15 years. Part of a box set (#4 of 5) which features many styles including rock, blues, jazz, r’n’b, etc. About half originals, half covers with guests including Eric Clapton, Mark Knopfler, Mick Taylor, George Harrison, Georgie Fame, Peter Frampton, etc. Strong stuff throughout. No FCC’s.

*My Favorites*: 1, 2, 3, 6, 8, 9, 12.

1. *(4:06) Mid. Upbeat soulful gospel r’n’b stylings with backing vocals. Killer.
2. *(5:16) Mid. Funky strut, hint of gospel, driving and fun.
3. *(3:35) Mid. Upbeat jumpin’ jazz, backing vocals, driving.
4. (3:36) Slow / Mid. Soulful, measured vocal delivery, nice piano, easy beat.
5. (5:24) Mid. Funky bluesy rock, female backing vocals, solid.
6. *(4:24) Mid. Old jazz with big horns, upbeat and fun.
7. (3:16) Mid. Jazzy, bluesy, beautiful, female lead vocal.
