Great full-length debut (June 2011) from Monterey’s Gandzjuk (gand-zook). His vocal delivery is on the quieter side, quite effortless, and really catchy. The music is mostly easy-going and mellow, really beautiful. With guitar, bass, percussion, keys, mandolin, pedal steel, some horns, it’s really a mix of folk / country / Americana-type stuff. It’s ethereal, airy and in some places very upbeat. Solid stuff. RIYL: Neil Young, Greg Brown, Jakob Dylan, Jim White, Daniel Lanois. FCC #6 at end, after music. *My Favorites*: 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 10, 11. 1. (3:26) Slow / Mid. Really mellow, easy-going w/ nice pedal steel. 2. *(4:00) Mid. Bright, plods along, cool acoustic guitar, mandolin. 3. *(3:10) Mid. Country flair, nice percussion, pedal, guitar. 4. (3:11) Slow / Mid. Plodding beat w/ brushes, piano, pedal. Nice. 5. *(2:38) Mid. Great percussion, guitar, bass. 6. *(4:23) Mid. FCC at end after music. Upbeat w/ mandolin, driving, great performances by all. 7. *(2:32) Mid. Bass intro, really upbeat and propelling. Great stuff… 8. (3:55) Mid. Pedal, brushes, acoustic guitar. Mellow. 9. (2:52) Mid. Acoustic guitar w/ elec lead, sparse and sweet. 10. *(4:02) Slow / Mid.
