(CLEAN) 02. Apollo Brown & OC - We The People - Mello Music Group: Not all hip hop focuses around the braggadocio or gun lyrics… this is a prime example of a track with a message. Part of OC’s chorus says it all: “I’d rather die on my feet than to live on my knees/ for change and guarantees/ the people need to take charge/ get involved and wake up / or forever stay asleep” The track has those nice up front drums and a chopped string stabs. But on the reals you need to listen to the lyrics. OC brings a message without being preachy or politically cliché. Peep it out. – M-SMOOTH
