Louisiana slide master Landreth with his 11th release. All instrumental songs w/ Joe Satriani sitting in on song #1. It’s got some proggy elements, a bit spacey at times, Satriani influences, maybe some Allman Brothers. Nice stuff. All songs are INSTRUMENTAL. No FCC’s.
*My Favorites*: 3, 5, 7, 8, 9.
1. (5:09). Mid. Driving beat, wailing guitar w/ hammering-on phrases, guest app by Joe Satriani.
2. (4:03) Mid. Nice slide work, big drums, a bit of an ethereal vibe.
3. *(4:02) Mid. Mellower w/ a nice, easy gait. Gets bigger toward the end.
4. (3:33) Mid. Driving, big drums, layered guitars. Hints of Yes??
5. *(5:23) Mid. A bit spacey yet coherent, strong beat.
6. (3:24) Slow. Slow, plodding beat, airy guitar, heavenly keys.
7. *(4:09) Mid. Big drums, proggy sound, classical guitar appearance.
8. *(4:59) Slow / Mid. Features mini orchestra, really nice w/ steady guitar pacing.
9. *(3:34) Mid. Reggae / Island sound w/ steel drums, swirling organ. Cool.
10. (3:24) Mid / Fast. Driving and rockin’ w/ big drums, organ, wailing guitar.
