Here’s interesting, eclectic, singer-songwriter type stuff out of the Boston area. Canoe is Robert Losier (songwriter, lead singer, most instruments) and Michael Burke (additional vocals, more instruments, engineering). Female backing singers appear throughout but are not listed in the credits.

No FCC issues

* Mid-slow. A sad song about happiness with lots of minor chords on acoustic guitar and somewhat amusing female backing vocals. (4:10)
** Mid-tempo. Pleasant, happy sounding song, with ironic lyrics (like John Prine). Full band with electric guitar, bass, drums, and backing female chorus. (4:24)
Mild FCC (“shit” as a curse) Novelty song lyrics. (5:05)
Mid-tempo. Alternates loud/soft. Power chords & la-la-las. More female harmony. (3:18)
** Slow. The simplest, folkiest song here. Just acoustic guitar & singer. Sweet, amusing lyrics. (3:13)
Mid-slow. Dreary, bleak feel, although with a catchy melody. Strummed guitar, soft accompaniment on electric keyboard. (This almost got one *) (5:18)
* Slow. Sweet, touching love song. Lovely work on guitar and electric organ. Interesting percussion, including a perfectly placed triangle. (4:07)
Mid-slow. Folkie again, this time somewhat angry in the lyric. Acoustic guitar. (4:39)
