Cari Lekebusch: You Are A Hybrid Too
Label: H Productions
Whoa, this is a double-album of some very impressive techno by Cari Lekebush. These are all long tracks that could be mixed within a techno DJ set, and this is clearly some of the finest and most edgy in German/Teutonic beats. There's a lot of influences from classic old-school Berlin techno (like the Advent), with shouts out to electro, minimal, tech-house, and industrial. Mighty meaty beats. All good, but try CD1: 2,3,5,7
1. Ambient track - sci-fi robot vocals, post-apocalyptic soundscape
2. Heavy techno - grinding industrial textures and dark synths with a ringing chime
3. Techy house, snappy hi-hats & claps & bouncy beat over moody tonal landscape
4. Whimsical bloopy tones over crisp cymbals and thumping beat
5. Oppressive and insistent techno cruncher with great synth tones & effects
6. Heavy drone-grinding bass w/ a little manic tone that repeats & reverberates
7. Techno bouncer, driving beats and tweaked-up vocal wailing
CD2: 10,11,13
8. Booming techno with sci-fi effects, great breakdowns
9. Bouncy electro warble that's a bit 80s with all sorts of effects & goodies
10. Oppressive techno. Hard & uncomrpomising with dark effects
11. Teutonic rolling bass with tweaky & blippy effects, awesome
12. An industrial flair to this one, crispy hi-hats and dark ambient swirls
13. Classic techno banger with reverberating tones
14. Slightly "lighter" fare to close out album, swirly synths and beats
