V/A: The Structure EP
Label: Injected Poison Records
Solid 4-track EP from four very distinct techno artists. All featuring solid beats and moody synth ambience with textured sound loops. Good dancefloor tracks are 1 & 4, but the standout in this EP is #3 by Exium. Try: 1,3,4.
1. No-holds-barred techno with slightly broken-up heavy thumping beats. Textures of static/clicks accentuate a crystalline reverberation. Solid work.
2. A more moody & atmospheric track with textured ambience and looped electro effects. Good bassline.
3. Long atmospheric intro with lightly fluttering synths matched with heavy thudding beats. As you float in the air the beats keep your feet on the ground. Introspective, thinking-man's techno.
4. Broken-beat techno pounder over dark textured ambience. Grinding bassline and quasi-industrial effects. It grabs you, beats you up, and doesn't let go.
