Fantastic take on old blues songs, geared toward kids, but fun for all. Some conversation w/ kids during the songs, some spoken pieces trying to come up with a nickname for Kaplan and intros for songs. Great musicianship throughout. A real gem!! No FCC’s. *My Favorites*: All are fantastic. 1. (1:04) Intro to ‘Fathers of The Blues’. 2. (2:21) Mid. Upbeat jazzy version of Robert Johnson classic. 3. (2:52) Mid. Nice harmonica, gtr, good beat. 4. (4:48) Mid. Story-song w/ gtr, shaker, yodeling, kids on back vcl. 5. (1:51) Spoken conversation trying to find a nickname for Kaplan. 6. (2:48) Mid. Easy-going w/ harmonica, plodding beat. 7. (3:03) Mid. Jazzy w/ horns, embellishment by kids. 8. (3:08) Mid / Fast. Jazzy w/ horns, piano. 9. (1:59) Slow / Mid. Nice picking w/ a great held note. 10. (1:56) Continued search for nickname. 11. (3:25) Mid. Upbeat w/ tambourine, harmonica, drums, gtr. 12. (4:27) Slow / Mid. Another great story-song. Bluesy and jazzy. 13. (3:03) Slow.
