Zinc is a UK producer well known for his drum and bass and breakstep innovations in the 90’s. He’s now abandoned that scene, opting to instead churn out tracks of his own signature “crack house” style (which fuses elements of deep house, funky house, fidget, and electro) He’s also a resident DJ of the pirate-turned-legit radio Rinse FM. This EP is comprised of six club tracks—nothing more, nothing less. Recommended for fans of Jam City, Benga, Lil Silva and Grum.

FCC CLEAN

*1. Club banger with sugary vocals from Sasha Keable. Deep, driving, gyrating beat with fidget house elements. One of my favorite pop songs of the year.
2. Fidget house, perky upbeat with aggressive vocal soundbites.
*3. Barebones drumbreak + blaring sinister horns. Gradually adds lots of cool electronic samples and effects.
4. Hazy, blurry beat with poppy male vocals. A little too bubblegum for my taste.
*5. Pulsating, hard-hitting electro with a bit of wobble. Nothing too over the top, but still a pretty aggressive track.
6. More electro club. Heavy bass, smooth phaser, a little wobble.
