Two great jazz artists team up to cover everything from Motown to Mississippi. You may know all these songs, but not like this. Backed by a solid band, these compelling tunes are full of inventive life and yet always a respectful touch.

*1. Playful but respectful ode to “Come Together.” Mid/up. Yes.
2. Piano noodles and hot drums modernize this md/up classic tune.
*3. Smooth and hot, like a shot of Jack. Mostly mid w/great work.
4. Starts slow, pick up a bit but the piano really shines of this one.
5. Nicely plinky intro, gets unpredictable but never deviates too far.
6. Quiet at times, passionate at others. Mostly midtempo but classy.
*7. A fast and wonderfully unpredictable ride. Just hold on.
*8. Midtempo piano w/a hint of gospel at first a smooth and cool ride.
9. Unpredictable piano, upbeat, sign on for the ride and go.
10. Slow & gentle, a warm and yet unique type of ballad
