PRETTY ATMOSPHERIC POP
Amatorski is a group from Belgium, comprising female and male vocalists, guitars, keys, electronics, bass and drums. Most tracks are slow, lush, pretty. This set contains both a full-length LP and a reissued earlier EP.
No FCC issues.
Main CD:
1 Slow. Instrumental. Music box prettiness with synth background. Not much to it. (2:37)
2 * Slow. Electronic pops & clicks, a delicate female voice, then layer upon layer. (4:23)
3 ** Slow. Gentle ballad. Soft voices over a drum beat. Nice guitar & piano bridge. (3:51)
4 Mid-fast. Big, richly layered electronic production. Instrumentation of all sorts. (4:00)
5 * Mid-slow. Opens with drum cadence. A bit jazzy. Quiet, vulnerable vocal. (5:16)
6 Very slow. Snare, cymbal, and organ. Like a funeral march. (7:37)
7 Slow. Toy piano, girlish voice for 40 sec. Brass band in the park for ~2 min. Dead air for ~6 min. Misc strange sounds, old radio signals, etc for ~3 min. (11:50)
Included EP: “Same Stars We Shared”
1 Slow. Saccharine sweet. Tiresome rhythm. Synth strings. Play only as a novelty. (2:55)
2 ** Slow. Drums with brushes. Heavy piano. Half spoken lyric. Oddly compelling. (4:31)
3 * Mid-tempo. Guitar arpeggios. Girlish voice. Folkie. Nice instrumental ending. (2:16)
4 VERY slow. Thin vocal. Strings. Painful. (3:29)
