Columbus, OH project featuring members of Times New Viking and 84 Nash, mining a rich fuzzy rock/pop vein that is perhaps better known as Guided By Voices territory. There's not a ton of variation, but the fuzzy riffs and short fragmented songs keep flying by until you realize that you're completely hooked. 1. med(+), quick poppy rocker to set the stage 2. med, cold end!, gently rock 3. med+, somewhere to go that can't be defined 4. med(-), stripped down palate cleanser 5. med, coulda been a GBV cover 6. * med(+), falls closer to 90s pop like Matthew Sweet or Velvet Crush 7. * med, some unexpected vocal harmonizing 8. med(+), another classic GBV melody fragment 9. * med(+), includes an actual guitar solo in addition to the fuzzy riffage 10. med(+), some guitar noodling in the bridge; sudden end with fading burble into... 11. med(-), fragment rather than song 12. * med(+), slightly melancholy with a faint Replacements feel 13. builds to med-, can't put my finger on it 14. dn(+), totally apes Pollard's faux-brit vocals 15. med, average rocker, last 10-15 seconds are a scavenged answering machine message | ||
