Mix of dark goth with overwhelming experimental noise, treatments. From tape loops to chamber instruments, female vocals appear maybe twice, otherwise its mostly instrumental. A mish mash of creativity that’s some of the most interesting stuff I’ve heard come to kzsu in a while. Impossible to pigeonhole. If you like stuff like Swans, Sujo, Temple Music, World of Skin, Current 93, NON you’ll be blown away. Took me some online digging to realize this is a remix album featuring many notables: “With the darkly celestial sounds of FATHER MURPHY’s spring 2012 album Anyway, Your Children Will Deny It still fresh in our minds, we put ten of the Italian psychedelic pop trio’s songs into the hands of our favorite experimental artists.” (Aagoo Records) Contributors include Sic Alps and Black Dice. The CD doesn’t come up on Gracenote and I couldn’t get a definitive i.d. of tracks/artists online.

1) (3:44) 4 note slow bass exchange with strange noise bursts, treated
2) (2:46) strange looped noise, weird vocal-like sounds overlaid
3) (3:44) somewhat dark tribal, urgent drum beat, bass, chanting vocals, very cool
4) (4:18) tribal with a searing meditative tone overwhelming, chills out in middle into a lovely dreamy balm
5) (4:16) electropulsing urgent feel, cool noise tones and buried vocalizations/samples
6) (3:11) strange dark rock with buried female vocs, gothy
7) (4:21) supercool doomy rock, swans etc come to mind
8) (3:53) ahh, the goth comes out, slow cultish death march, quiet trippy chants, late night bliss out
9) (4:25) strange electrosynth mushy thing, super cool
10) (2:26) female vocs in front, a plodding song, heavy bass and chamber orchestra type strings, wow
