Dark, sometimes heavy drumming and sometimes bass provide the background for experimental noisy psych-pop. Huge combination of influences here produce a really unique sound; it's a bridge between noisy experimental stuff and the pop music that DJs who also like noisy experimental stuff enjoy. Nelson is well known as a drummer, and the drumming here is top notch, with a big trip-hop influence. Very cool. Not as sunny as Megabats, faster than Secret Colors, noisier than the pop music of Olivia Tremor Control while sharing some qualities with their collages but with much more focus.
1 Fuzzy falsetto/chanted vox over trip hop drum beat and electronic twinkling. < 1 minute
*2 Staticky upbeat drum beat, glitchy 8-bit synths. Deconstructed weirdo 60s pop-rock lyrics/vox. ~1 minute
3 Fuzzy electro-psych-noise-pop experiment, drums on lead
4 Whimsical electro psych over heavy bass wobbles, dark pounding drums
*5 Catchy synth melody, pounding cymbals, noisy fuzzed out lyrics
6 Calmer, lazy stoned sunny day feel. Layered vox go a cappella at end
7 Dark, plucked electric guitar wanderings, shuffling beat
8 Electronic rhythm, twanging guitar, super deconstructed pop
9 Dirty fuzzy electronic bassline, sung-spoke blues-psych-industrial vox. Accented by twinkling, whirring noises
10 Low rumblings, clicking beat, buried dreamy vox, acoustic guitar experimentation joins second half
*B Side-long suite of many short sections that segue into one another, becoming progressively noisier as it goes along. Shares many qualities with the rest of the album while being less rhythm-focused and melodic in favor of sunny noise
