BEAUTIFUL. PICK THIS UP. RIGHT NOW. Drawing from bass music and hip hop, this is Shigeto’s second album featuring lots of psychedelia, nice leading beats, and electronic noises. Some dancey tracks, some chilled out ones, but overall a truly lovely album to listen to. As a wise man selling bongs/ glow in the dark posters at a festival once told me, “Shigeto is hellllllla good”. Sounds like: Four Tet, tame Flying Lotus

Picks: *1*, 2, 3, 4, 7, *10*
**1. (2:14) Synth organ, jazzy, sassy, and crackly. Mmm mm this is what angel sex must sound like.
*2. (4:52) Hip hop beats, darker, haunting, and spacey. Develops into really nice moody track. Entitled Detroit Part 1, so you know its güt.
*3. (6:01) What starts as a noisy cacophony transforms into a chugging but slow samba dance track.
*4. (5:15) Faster track with wood blocks (score!), synth solo. Good to keep the energy going mid-set. Nice noises in this one.
5. (3:08) Dark heavy beats melded with light synth, crackles, and some flutterings.
(5:42) Seductive synth, some snare action and shimmers, but overall a bit cheesy.
*7. (4:25) Faster heartbeat-like bass, twinkling, industrial sounds, lazrs (in a good way) and layers of background-- very neat. X fans try this out.
8. (5:31) Glittering song with dramatic beat rises. Switches up to soulful synth spotlight with lots of panning lurve.
9. (2:49) Fast shakers lead this one, wavering synths play in and out.
**10. (4:46) Mix ups in lower frequencies throughout the song, pounding tight kick drum leads through buzzing flat lines and cool noises.
11. (3:24) Hip hop beats are back, modified male vocals drift in and out along with melancholy synth play.
