The Dismemberment Plan / Uncanny Valley / Partisan . The Dismemberment Plan, a band formed in the 90s, has a very art punk and dance punk musical style. They are known to have had hip hop and R&B influences to their sound. Uncanny Valley is the band’s comeback album. The album has a very techno, punk, rock sound. Majority of the songs have upbeat tunes. Indie rock, first record in 10 years, toured with Pearl Jam as well as Death Cab. Tracks 2, 6 &7 were my favorites. There are FCC violations on 8 & 10.
1. 3:29 Guitar and bell sounds throughout. Upbeat tune. “No One’s Saying Nothing”
2. 2:50 Orchestra/marching band intro. Electronic beat, reminiscent of Disneyland’s Electrical Parade. Sounds like a mix of punk and Passion Pit. “Waiting”
3. 3:38 Classical (violin)/techno sounds in the beginning. Guitar sounds. “Invisible”
4. 3:41 Guitar/drum sounds. Punk with techno undertones. Guitar solo. “White Collar White Trash”
5. 2:46 Latin percussion sound mixed with techno at beginning. Guitar punk. “Living In Song”
6. 5:21* Guitar and drum sounds. Melancholy/reflective tune. “Lookin’”
7. 3:36* Upbeat. Sounds like Noah and the Whale. Guitar/drum sounds. Guitar solo at 2:00. “Daddy Was A Real Good Dancer”
8. 4:22 Techno intro. Punk sounds. Guitar/drums/techno. 2:35 He says fuck. FCC violation. “Mexico City Christmas”
9. 4:00 Techno punk. Reminiscent of something from the 80s. 2:20 guitar solo. “Go And Get It”
10. 3:51 Guitar into. Upbeat/fun sounds. 2:35-2:38 They say fuck repeatedly. FCC violation. “Let’s Just Go To The Dogs Tonight”
