Dreamy exotic folk-rock with psychedelic flair, hazy and comforting like a joint on Sunday morning. Matt Valentine and Erika Elder have had quite a prolific career, perfecting a sound that is both primordially familiar and totally original. Imagine if Neil Young (Zuma era dirges especially) went for a ramble in the woods with Charalambides, Wooden Wand, even Bardo Pond comes to mind. It doesn’t get much better than this. No FCCs detected.

1. (3:32) turn on the lava lamp and drone out; beautiful acoustic-electric bliss-out floating, raga influenced
2. **** (5:56) Neil Young’s most depressing balladry filtered through blurry electronics and reverb, old-school drum machine rhythm comes in halfway through. Beautiful, slow and sad make-out music.
3. ** (4:47) Neil Young driving off into the desert, the sun setting majestically over crimson canyons
4. (6:45) bluesy wah-wah’d dreamy drifting, early Floyd lushness with some country-folk overtones
5. ***(19:34) long epic suite: a gentle blues-folk jam gradually builds into a loud, jumbled and distorted plod, triiiiippyyyyyy
